I’m now 80 and my mum went out to,work part time when I was 11. My grandparents lived next door so my gran and I used to prepare the evening meal. Mum working part time, it improved our income and she was happier meeting people at work and making friends. No one lacked anything and we were much happier in the 50’s and 60’s. Things seemed much less complicated and there was no uncontrolled immigration. I think this is where Simon needs to look …far more important than mums going out to work part time when their children were older and more responsible.
