@engjds that's what I said.. no fact.. opinion. Nukes arrive at hyper speed, from surprising directions these days, and the fastest come in shipping containers.. putin was pushed into this by china, which wanted a weak Russia to be like North Korea, while establishing precedent for Taiwan attack (shared history, culture as public reason), and dividing Pacific forces away to Europe. Cheap energy resources, even Lake Baikal to water soy farms, and if you aren't friendly with China, putin tests missiles in your direction, just like North Korea (95% dependent on china). But that's just an opinion, like yours.

@engjds Ukraine gave its nukes to Russia in return for promise of territorial integrity in the 90s, Ukraine had no interest in NATO before Crimean invasion and later Donbas attack, Belarus map indicated Moldova, Romania, Poland, Balkans were all next (denazifying seems to be restoring Soviet Union, ie lands held at end of WW2), and putin has thyroid cancer from handling plutonium in a karma come-around for the books.. so he was clearly not doing any of this for anything to do with "fear of nukes". NATO is already on his border anyway, thanks to his previous invasions, Chechnya Georgia and then he sent troops to Iron fist Kazakhstan and Belarus, and you question interest in a defensive pact? Lol
