@Dihorse371 no, Taiwan was a member of the United Nations until the sino-soviet schism, when the US proposed switching recognition to Beijing from Taipei, and free world went along with it to punish Russian aggression.. 2. to reassure Taiwan, the stipulation was that it would be sold weapons substantial enough to guarantee independence, indefinitely.
