Grew up in ABQ, stores and restaurants had "no guns" sign on doors because it was still old west style w people carrying in holsters common. If you didn't have a .22 as a small child your family was weird! Hard to believe how different culture is there if this is on the table, just since the 80s. Also my dad hired the only black person I'd ever seen for furniture sales, so seeing a newscaster on KOAT is wild!
