  13. @johnnylind-n7j they are strategic resources and that is why [unnameable nation] was already trying to get the mineral rights before the war began, as they have in Greenland, so the operation of mining is only to "secure a forward operating base with resupply logistics already in place" and further its monopoly on rare earth metals, thereby adding to what it considers a "backed currency" able to replace the US benefitting petrodollar. Unfortunately all of this mess can be attributed to the brickheads of the world deciding the time is now (except India, which is overwhelmed by loyalty to Russia, dislike of the UK etc, and open distrust of its terrible north eastern neighbor).
