After seeing Iraqi and Afghan resources immediately flow east to self-described enemies, the approach this time is to ensure NATO benefits in the big picture, particularly when those enemies paid two hundred billion to pootie for causing all this mess (as well as elements of the previous US admin)).

@johnnylind-n7j they are strategic resources and that is why [unnameable nation] was already trying to get the mineral rights before the war began, as they have in Greenland, so the operation of mining is only to "secure a forward operating base with resupply logistics already in place" and further its monopoly on rare earth metals, thereby adding to what it considers a "backed currency" able to replace the US benefitting petrodollar. Unfortunately all of this mess can be attributed to the brickheads of the world deciding the time is now (except India, which is overwhelmed by loyalty to Russia, dislike of the UK etc, and open distrust of its terrible north eastern neighbor).

@tubejay1 to be fair, they allowed their militaries to decline because they trusted us to keep the world safe with ours, they even support it by buying our treasury bills and using the dollar for energy purchases (30% increase in purchasing power of each dollar is thanks to our allies support), and direct investments in US job creation by manufacturing here.. so they were a bit surprised that we were acting like the US of the 1920s, once again, and inviting of future world crushing hostility from enemies we send 600 billion a year to, for cheap unhealthy junk that is garbage weeks after purchase.. etc 😞

@PatGlover-x3l well, to be fair, comparing the failure of a nation whose goal was to win hearts and minds as well as strategic goals, to one who will drop a daisy cutter each day to advance, such as the one that sponsored this mess, is completely disingenuous, no?
