  1. I attended some classes in Leiden Holland when in University as a visiting student. The first day I tried to buy a bike from a grandmother's shop but had little Dutch to communicate, so I tried German which I was studying, and she started shouting and hitting me with a broom, I fled in confusion and Dutch classmates explained it was from mistreatment during the occupation in WW2.

  2. ​ @minhthunguyendang9900 right! 1990s Michigan schooling we learned the Soviets were brutal victors in post war Germany, but of course we were told that the US prevented its troops from such activities, as we were a Christian nation.. obviously some of these children of that time would loudly disagree..
