The 2022 omnibus spending bill included a section reforming the Electoral Count Act, a 1887 law that governs the counting of Electoral College votes in Congress, and the VP's role overseeing that count. Does always being incorrect make you sad?

@starchild19743 they both promised Mike (pence) that he would be the lead contender for 24' GOP nominee with their help, but things went south for all three of them and their plan.

@mikew764 i never said anything was changed in 2020, I said a change was called for since then, and then told you when it finally happened, and how, despite your loud dismissal of what we can now agree was a fact. So you are wasting time now rephrasing the original disagreement, hoping the exchange won't be seen for what it is, a demonstrable loss for your skill at comprehension. Sad.

@mikew764 All I did was present facts, your embarrassment comes from failure to support Nancy's narrative. At least your husband's lover/drug dealer didn't REALLY embarrass you internationally, by breaking into your home with a hammer, while your media lackeys fail to frame a supporter of the previous admin for it, and that's something to be thankful for, as it would be a worse sensation than losing comment section debates, for certain.

However, your loss has, once again, been evidenced by the democrats frantically changing the law in 2022, when Congress passed the first federal elections legislation specifically to reduce the vice president's role in the proceedings to a purely ceremonial one.. the measure also raised the bar for objecting to a state's slate of electors, from just one member of the House and one senator being able to challenge, even without legitimate concerns, to a raised threshold for an objection to 20% of the members of each chamber. Now you can pretend otherwise all you want, but those are the facts and efforts to change them simply reduces your status further.

"The bill also makes changes to the 1887 Electoral Count Act, aimed at making it more difficult to block the certification of a presidential election. The reforms include clarifying that the vice president has a purely ceremonial role as Congress certifies presidential elections." So, a 3rd time I try to make it possible for you to understand when your question has been answered, and will only hope you are ineligible to vote if it takes a 4th

@MikeW-dz7ij hahahhh you are still at it? So you admit now that reforms were made, and you understand when and by what manner, but now you want to debate the definition of the term, "clarifying"? Moving the goal post pretty far from the point, which was that the state's electors could be sent back without a vote count, and now, thanks to legislation, that is more difficult. My point was proved using sources that are difficult to question, given their bias, and your point was that he never had the option.. again, proven wrong by the fact that reforms were enacted to prevent his having the option. Debate/logic failure, that semantics cannot overcome.

@MikeW-dz7ij I'm well aware of what the Constitution says, but if you are looking for something about the 1887 Electoral Count Act in it, you are not only comprehension challenged, but lack overall understanding of time itself, and this brings shame on the entire US educational system.. Sad!

@MikeW-dz7ij why are you still trying to argue with me, you should be having this conversation with the democrats that desperately added those changes to the 2022 Omnibus spending bill (4th time explained, in slow mode now), when they had a supermajority (holding the executive branch and both houses of congress simultaneously), in fear of losing the option after the GOP would win later that year. Ask them why they needed those changes, and ask them for the definition of words, etc.. I tried to help, but your motivation is clearly not communal and instead seems ego driven, typified by insignificant detail seeking etc. Do better.

"On May 11, 2022, Harris set a new record for tie-breaking votes in a single day, casting four votes. On July 13, 2023, Harris matched Calhoun's record for the most tie-breaking votes cast by a vice president in U.S history at 31 votes."
