Utah is in the best position in the world, most likely, they have been considering this for many years with their Mormon belief system, able to feed whole towns for years. The problem is the US willingly gave away its manufacturing base and thus the ability to overcome and adapt to problems, no matter what they may be. Bribed policy makers (Bill Clinton was the first and worst) in the 90s weren't satisfied with NAFTA and decided China was a better option, which created a situation many people saw as making the US fragile and exposed to ANY sort of problem.
