Mercedes was once the best, before 2000 the products were designed and tested for 10 years before sale, but getting knocked off by Lexus destroyed the business model, and instead of 3 new cars every 10 years, it became 10 new cars every 3 years, engineers took a back seat to marketing/accounting, sadly. Porsche is still top shelf, but BMW, once great, became junk around 2014 and Audi is nice but is really just a tarted up VW.
