I don't understand why storylines seldom cover metallic core remnant chunks as options instead, with fusion around the corner coupled with zero G fabrication, cad cutting 3D fusing, while orbit slowly moved and it can be ready for spin up by the time it circles the moon, with impressive shielding already in place.. ? Or fusion power an ice ball w freeze-thaw cycles that allow shielded and strengthened spaces within the fused rock core? No? Laughable you say? Ok.. what about robots that help hollow out a small metallic spheroid, while ion thrusters send it inward to heat cycle it a in close-sun orbit as it alloys, then quench it to absolute zero before making a steep trajectory entry into URANUS !
