I read Unrestricted Warfare in 1999 and thought we'd all decouple due to the obvious nefariousness with which the ccp conducted its plans, and have been more surprised each year, ever since, that it was taking so long to wake up the west to what Beijing's neighbors knew all along.. the 2020 covid catastrophe seemed like it would be the final straw, as far as revealing bad intentions, and have been in shock at the US /global response for the last three years.

Okinawa was historically as much part of Japan as it was China, and the natives want little to do with either neighbor, though less inclined of late to interact with Beijing, due to "Xinnie the Poo" effect.

@taiwanisacountry indeed, Taiwan is a country and a great one, but disagree about Japan, because they were manipulating the yen in the 1980s to subsidize an industrial growth based on exports, and when the US asked them to quit, they did and faced almost flat growth ever since.. ccp saw that and realized it could do the same thing except to tell the US "get lost" when checked, while blackmailing "captured elites" to enable the process.. Sad!
