  4.  @syourke3  . Netanyahu has had to appoint judges (usually voted for) to stop himself from being jailed over corruption charges - he really needs this. Hardline Israelis have dreamt about eradicating Palestinians since 1948. The (Syrian) oil fields in the disputed Golan Heights region is a big prize too for Israel and the West.

  8.  @syourke3  .. He’s a slippery fish. I’m sure he’ll find a scapegoat or two to cover himself. And besides, he’s making himself into a wartime PM, so removing him will be hard for as long as the conflict continues. But yes, if it doesn’t work then he’s toast.
