  8.  @jasonscott6174  Firstly, east of the Dnepr, 90% of the people there either consider themselves separate from Ukraine proper, or actually identify as Russian. Secondly, Russia has no desire to try and take western Ukraine. That would be insane and they have said as much. The west of Ukraine will remain sovereign. What they have also said is that they want to demilitarise and denazify western Ukraine, and I suspect replace the current regime with a more neutral one. But this is all largely academic - Look at the cause rather than the symptoms: We (the UK and the US) have used this ‘split’ nation to sow the seeds of war with the sole aim of destroying Russia’s economy, toppling its government, and moving in for the real prize - the real reason for all of this… it’s resources. It’s what we do. It’s what we’ve always done. We are not the good guys.
