They’re not ‘feral’… They are natural, wild bees - necessary for the health and functioning of the ecosystem.

@calcal6508 .. There’s a reason why flowering plants and insects evolved so successfully together. Wind pollination won’t cut it.

I think you’re using the wrong terminology. ‘Feral’ bees would be those that were domesticated (if it can be argued that bees can actually be domesticated) and have escaped back into the wild to survive again outside of human control/domestication. They would be native species. Non-native species, however, (often introduced artificially) is something different and, as you correctly point out, can be troublesome to competing native species that may get out-competed and may even become extinct in there indigenous locations. There are many examples of this happening all over the world in both the plant and animal kingdoms. So, feral - good.. Non-native - possibly not. I would also argue that even non-native bees would be perfectly adequate pollinators. I’m sure the flowering plants would not suffer from slightly different carriers of pollen. But the ‘argument’ for killing the bees here is that they are ‘feral’… which is ignorant nonsense.
