@oliviahelmer1774 .. Olivia, I strongly sense that you have gained almost all of your knowledge about this purely from the media - which is not good. Masks and social distancing will certainly help to reduce virus and bacteria infections. We have been doing this for over a year now, and in the first nine months people were very good at following it. The numbers of regular flu and cold cases have plummeted - in fact only 18 cases of seasonal flu have been recorded over the winter months. So why then did Covid continue to rise while other virus cases fell? And all viruses evolve and mutate continuously, and eventually lose their pathogenicity. The Government claiming that new, more deadly “variants” keep appearing, and we have to keep locking down etc because of them, is pure nonsense - nonsense at the very least, and criminal at best.
