  1. Very interesting. I didn’t know that the early shuttles used magnetic core memory but I suppose it’s obvious considering that the computer systems were originally built to early 70s technology

  2. There we go, throw out the baby with the bath water generations. We stopped teaching real engineering because of stupid policies and putting money before everything. Also those that do have skills to do this type of work still exist but the modern engineering world doesn’t recognise these people. They want to see spotty kids come out of university who have not a clue but they are sought because they are cheaper to pay than good engineers who know their worth.
