  1. I watched this programme live on BBC at the time. It was a genuine live broadcast and to be honest, I thought at the time and still do that there may have been some element of reality. I remember the next morning hearing on all of the news of the reaction by the public and that BBC admitted it had all been staged. Possibly. But let’s suppose it was real, then the implications are literally terrifying. I am a believer that focusing too much on spiritual material can somehow open a sort of spiritual door that leads to disturbance in the mind of the viewer and other related issues.

  2. There have been programmes like this going back many years, The exorcist was released in the 70s and all the other follow ons. As for live, yes then that may be true. The thing is though if something is presented as being real and the delivery is convincing then it has a far greater effect than would,otherwise be experienced if people watched it as if it was presented as dramatised. Look at the effect of the broadcast of The War Of The Worlds in the US what an impact that had. There were other TV programmes broadcast a lot earlier such as the Enfield Poltergeist which again was broadcast late 70s I think.
