  3. Since I was diagnosed with ADHD my psychiatrist has hardly engaged with me this is over 6 years. He said that he thinks I may have Bipolar type 2 but says he can’t treat me for that only the ADHD as the NHS won’t pay for both. He follows me up about 6monthly appointments and he does it at random so I never know exactly when he is going to call. His staff know or understand nothing about my conditions I feel. For example I had an appointment which I mixed up for 12am I stood of 1pm and when I pressed the buzzer no one answered … believing I was late I pressed the buzzer again, no response so I remembered something I’d seen on TV a and the guy leant his head on the buzzer and I did the same as someone was watching and I guess this made me feel empowered. Anyway after about 20 seconds someone answered … turns out they were having a meeting and one of the reception staff was really rude in turn (I realised in retrospective that I was rude also) saying they were having a meeting… what doesn’t help us that they put a sign on the front door saying that rude or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the patient being removed from treatment … what a flaming trigger to me this is…!!! To really add insult to injury, I once was given a phone follow up and the guy was different and this guy kept triggering me, it was like he had no idea and kept judging me rather than suggesting … anyway I reported him saying his manner was abrasive, judgemental and was like he couldn’t get off the call quick enough. I suggested to my psychiatrist that he may have similar issues to me and guess what, my psychiatrist said he had … well surely that’s not very professional as that’s surely a breach of the other guys medical conditions… Overall this just is rubbish… my meds don’t seem to have any effect and over here in the U.K. z it’s almost impossible to get any help as there is just no money it seems in mental health … some people can wait 3, 4, 5 years just to get a diagnosis …
