  1. You do realize the Republicans already voted for a debt ceiling increase right? It's just they wanted budget cuts to happen as well. You know, like the millions that are still being sent monthly to Afghanistan? Or the hundreds of millions to house all these illegals. The U.S. could also cut propping up NATO and the U.N. as well.

  2. Congress didn't give themselves a pay raise. They had a cost of living pay increase clause from nearly three decades ago (Democrats did that). In fact the Republicans submitted a bill recently that stops (eliminates) any wage increases including the back door deal attempted by the Democrats to get reimbursed for $34k+ annual lodging expenses for just showing up at work.

  5. Democrats concept of compromise. Give me everything and anything I ask for, no questions asked. If it fails we just throw more money at it. If it fails a second time, it's obviously the Republicans fault, as they wage economic terrorism on the country. If it actually succeeds it's because of Democratic wishes, and they want their just rewards (kickbacks).
