  2. I remember a court case where a burglar was shot for trying to steal a farmer's tools...his livelihood. The judge stated possessions did not equate to taking a life, that positions can be replaced, a life cannot. The farmer then asked if the judge was going to replace the $100k worth of tools and equipment that's still missing because his family's life depended on it, and they can't be replaced either. The $100k was the part the insurance didn't cover just before cancelling him.
