  1. Doesn't the original question say "cable" not "rope" (technically there is a difference). It also does not say what the cable is made out of or how thick it is. If it is as light (and thin) as possible, then it could be as good a parallel to the ground when moving forward. It also matters how fast the helicopter is moving, average helicopter speeds is around 150mph with a max of 300mph.
