@NightRidah777 Exactly right! General public is so far behind AI trends. I work in big tech and trust me internally the noise is very much cooling on AI. Externally they continue to push it so they can charge customers more while giving them less engineering output and quality. It’s a short term smokescreen right now.

samgriess438 No it hasn’t . It’s simply being used as a pretext for layoffs. Look at the data coming from tech sector like GH CP and Google Dev survey. AI has only offered fairly pathetic gains. It’s nowhere near able to bridge the engineering layoff loss. It’s simply a smokescreen for big tech to charge more for software while getting rid of engineering cost. They know AI is not a gap fill. They just need to deceive their customers in to thinking it is and that’s exactly what’s happening. For now. In 24 months the climate will be very different and customers will inevitably become more hostile to such huckster sales tactics and under deliverables. Tech companies will either suffer, or go on a hiring surge.
