  1.  @aplus1080  The absurd argument from people who only started training BJJ 2 years ago is "Gordon's generation is wayyy better" is also just pure recency bias. He beat guys like Kron Gracie and Victor Estima who beat many of the so called "greats" on the modern scene as they overlapped generations. Then look at who else Marcelo beat: Braulio, Popovitch, Drysdale, Xande, Maia....Galvao for goodness sake. People are puffing up Galvao and Xande as 2 of the Top 3 wins of Gordon's career and Marcelo beat way fresher and younger versions of those guys 15 years ago. 100% Marcelo is the GOAT. It's just Zoomers or people who only have been in to BJJ for like a year who think no one else existed before Gordon, or who assume simply BJJ today is the best it's ever been. There's more techniques today, but that doesn't reflect the actual skill level. Roger was beating elite guys who had way more "techniques" than he had for over 20 years.
