@garretteague9358 you clearly didn't or missed his point entirely. He said the absence of conservatives across all levels of higher education is to blame in part of Liberal dominance in academia. He said this is mainly due to conservative attitudes towards higher education. He's essentially advocating for conservatives to embrace higher education, which would then level the field, and mean you wouldn't have likes of Ben being banned from campus by overly Liberal administrations. Like I said, you either didn't watch it or didn't get his point.

@buckchile614 While a lot of what Florida is doing is appalling, getting rid of Sociology is not. There's zero data that where there are lots of sociology graduates societies in those vicinities get better. What function does the subject actually even provide. Economics, Geography, Psychology all do what Sociology is supposedly does way better. In a field so blighted by anti intellectualism and quack ideology arguments with little empirical evidence, Sociology is a field we need to confine to the rubbish bin of history. I can promise you won't notice any difference in society. My small country pretty much abolished sociology 20 years ago due to poor numbers, so universtirs all bit removed the subject. Since then, our homicide rate has halved, we've become more progressive and have better income levels. The absence of sociology has had zero negative impact on society.

@christiansargent6053 Psychology, particularly social psychology. Economic academics have already studied the culture wars. You're being far too reductive about those other disciplines.

@collinj6620 It purports to study the systems and structures of human societies. In reality it's a field blighted by poor academics (best students study other subjects, not sociology), quack ideologies and hasn't developed, realtive to other fields, anything much to benefit the human race. Which given its supposed definition shows just how unnecessary it is as a discipline.
