  1. Yup. "Wokeness" tends to exist in an ethereal way in the digital domain. It rarely translates in to tangible real world action. It's just the latest manifestation of something that social media has been perpetuating from the start: online personas crafted by people who want the world to see them in a certain way for no other reason than to get attention and approval. It's a powerful force and social media companies know that. "Wokeness" is often little more than shallow, vacuous attempts to get attention and approval online. It's Slacktivism 2.0

  2. it depends where you are talking about...things like abortion and marriage equality in Europe are seen as "centrist" issues rather than left ideas. America is different I know. Leftists in America would be considered conservatives in other countries in the world.
