@saintcruzin Jesus dude how on earth did you have it that close? Fury outlanded Wilder in all but 2 of the 12 rounds. Wilder threw more punches but missed far far more. Wilder missed with 83.5% of his shots, which was far higher than the shots Fury missed with. Fury controlled the ring, had far better defense, made Wilder miss with over a hundred more shots than Fury missed with, and landed more shots in the fight. I mean I know some people favour aggression in a boxing ring, but it has to be effective. Christ, my grandma could get in a boxing ring and be aggressive. Doesn't mean she would win rounds though.

@andrewshaw1571 Wilder also performs worse in rematches. He was worse against Ortiz in the 2nd fight and worse against Fury in the 2nd fight. As you say, that has a lot to do with Fury, but it also points to the fact Wilder does not have the ability to improve. He can't adapt or do anything different. He actually gets worse.

C ST You have to be objective and look at Wilder's attributes. 1) The man admitted after the 1st Ortiz fight he never learned boxing fundamentals. 2) He also performed worse in both the Fury AND Ortiz rematches, not better. He has no form in improving with rematches. Quite the contrary. 3) Wilder has had numerous arm / hand operations and is 35 this year. He has a lot of miles on the clock. Far more than Fury. 4) Honestly, in all the years watching Wilder he has never shown any real change in tactics. Sure, he's gotten more patient, but tactically still tries to win the same way: catch someone with a big right when they are backing up. Its not impossible Wilder can beat Fury. Its just highly, highly unlikely. I don't want to see it as its a boring fight for me as the outcome is almost certain to be the same: Fury beats Wilder again. I'd much rather see Fury fight Joshua. Thats a more interesting fight at this stage.

@johnlopez8241 You're comparing apples and oranges though. Lewis was a 2 time Olympian who had worked with world class coaches and had fought some of the best Heavyweights of all time. He had exceptional boxing skills and at his peak was as good a heavyweight as there ever was: great jab, strong defense, excellent movement with his feet and body and could take someone out with just about any power punch you care to name. Wilder, on the other hand, admitted he never learned boxing fundamentals after the 1st Ortiz fight. Speaking of which, he actually performed worse in both the Ortiz and Fury rematches. Wilder regressed. He did the opposite of improve. Wilder isn't anything like Lennox Lewis. He has none of his skills, experience or schooling. Lewis was a boxing master, this is why he was able to come back. Wilder is not anything like that. It's not impossible Wilder could beat Fury. But it is highly, highly, unlikely. I'm talking like 200 to 1.

@YouAintGotNoTegridyBoi Stiverne was stopped last year by a 8 fight novice. He lost fo a guy who ha *8 fights*. Stiverne had a belt and got an inflated ranking, but he was poor.

Problem is Wilder in his whole career has never shown any ability/desire to improve. First, he's still with the same coach he had since he was an amateur. That's always a red flag. Like Lennox Lewis said, you can't get in to university learning from your kindergarten teacher. Then you look at the Ortiz and Fury rematches: Wilder actually performed worse in both fights. It was his opponents who had made adjustment and improved (okay, Wilder still took out Ortiz because Ortiz mad a mistake but Ortiz was comfortably winning the fight until then). Wilder also admitted after the 1st Ortiz fight he'd never learned boxing fundamentals. Add all that up you get an almost 35 year old who never learned to box proerply, who has shown not only an inability to change or do new things, but actually regresses. He won't beat Fury in a 3rd fight.

Bingo! I've said the same thing. Not only does Wilder not improve, he actually performs worse in rematches. He makes no improvements. He can't do it. He doesn't;t ave the boxing ability, boxing IQ or experience to improve.

Totally agree. The man admitted after the 1st Ortiz fight he never learned to box properly. Not only has he shown zero improvmente, he actually performed worse in both the Ortiz and Fury rematches. The man gets worse as time goes by, not better.
