  1. That argument is unfortunately, invalid - because the people that go to Mars and the people responsible for sending them to Mars don't bare the entire responsibility of taking care of the Earth; that cause is a group project :)

  2. It's 25,000 mph. And, you don't need to take it by faith, you can actually do the math yourself if you're at the college physics 2 and calculus 2 level. It's a super fun problem you can do, and you can prove it to yourself that's the speed you need to escape Earth's gravity initially.
