It is not a valid comparison, and here's why: -The flu stat is PER YEAR and the corona stat is only for the last 2 months. -The flu cases are relatively constant per year, while COVID-19 cases are growing exponentially. A better way to compare the flu and COVID-19 is by death rate -date rate of flu: 0.1% -death rate of COVID-19: 3.5% COVID-19 is (3.5%/0.1%) = 35 TIMES more deadly. We should take ultimate precaution.
