Simple, don't give honours to actors and their like, give it to the men and women who do exceptional work in their communities whilst holding down full time jobs. I could give the Royal family dozens of candidates for awards.

@stephenskinner3851 Thank you for the clarity of your explanation ( for want of a better word). Unfortunately I don't have the ability with the written word you that you possess. I guess that was clear with my exchanges with my "friend". The UK has many faults and it could be run a lot better than it is. However it's my belief that it's still one of the best places to live.

@SK-ei4cm It has....many times. Blair, Brown Cameron and on and on and on. But beating the UK over the head with shit that happened generations ago and which many people have apologised for countless times whilst the same shit is going on all over the world right now. Yet from people like you concerning this. Not a f***ing peep, deafening silence, sweet fa, nada, nothing. Stop going on about history and concentrate on the here and now if you are that concerned about it. There's plenty of it going on right now, on the Asian continent, the African continent and the Middle East. Not to mention the Eastern European gangs trafficking people (primarily women and girls for sex purposes) all over Europe including the UK. So yeah you concentrate on shit that happened during the empire.
