@jane---489 don't listen to franklingoon, this is someone who trawls through children's fairytales and primary school essays looking for evidence of racism, homophobia etc. You'd get more sensible debate out of a lamp post....and it'd probably be infinitely more interesting.

@franklingoodwin structure of racism in British institutions? Up until yesterday three of the four most prominent political positions in government were filled by British Asians. Show me a country in Asia where you can see the same thing. Clearly you are right and we're hideously racist for not having all four positions so filled 😂 Nish Kumar took a cheap shot, just like Andrew Lawrence did and one paid with career and one won't and no amount of mealy mouthed chatter will Chang that fact

@franklingoodwin it was a cheap shot like Kumars, one got his career destroyed and one won't even get mentioned. I think the phrase you are looking for here is massive hypocrisy, I think you'll that's what really upsets people...the fact no one is playing on a level playing field

@franklingoodwin the whole thread is about the context of the joke and just because you think it's irrelevant doesn't make it so. Also you yourself said earlier the fact that prominent positions in government being filled by British Asians has shown how far the country has come. So clearly you thought it relevant then. A racist is a racist is a racist and bringing skin colour into the joke made it racist. I told you I'm only interested in facts and everyone else on this thread thinks Kumar is an unfunny racist c#@#

@franklingoodwin it's exactly a woke backlash that finished him, the usual squitter pile on from the brave keyboard warriors. Let's address the small number of Asians in top political jobs. I would imagine % wise it is similar to the % of Asians in the UK....far more progressive than any Asian country 🤔. I agree racism still exists in this country, Kumar displayed it with his "joke" (oh the irony) I couldn't listen to anymore in case my sides split.
