@@homie3461 Depends where they lived. Some communities relied solely on the mines for it's livelihood. Mining was also a very dangerous job with shit working conditions pre ww2. It doesn't matter who they voted for, they were entitled to any NHS or state benefits. After all they paid their taxes. And that's the bottom line, they were citizens not grifters. My father's generation were proud of being hard workers...something that probably goes over your head.
