  4. Exactly - it was kind of the Roman mentality - pay your taxes and be good. Thanks - I’m glad you liked my content. I’m making my way slowly though Medieval Spain. I was going to do a five minute primer video on the Crusades to give people a brief view of what was going on, on the other end of the Mediterranean. Hence the reason I started looking at your stuff.

  5. You make a good argument for the western christians technological advancements - but I was wondering if you could mention something for the Islamic side. I just finished a series on Tolerance in Islamic Spain and there is a lot to be said about moorish and Islamic innovation as well. Do you have video about this?

  6. Yeah - it seems like many people for and against this argument interpret it with 21st century ideals. It is sometimes not applicable to a medieval period where a person’s chances of survival was not always guaranteed.
