People in the industry knew what was happening but if it doesn’t happen to you, you don’t speak up. Those affected understand that they have no support and won’t have a career if they speak up against a powerful man. It’s despicable but few if any males will admit to the knowledge in order to protect their own reputation and career. Many people in power take advantage of others and rarely get called out.

@rowanaforrest9792 I don’t think that sexual harassment is limited to one gender, but certainly more prevalent in males towards females. Harassment in general, including bullying, is certainly practiced, in my experience, by both genders and probably done more often by females towards both males and females. Unfortunately, people won’t speak up for fear of retaliation and don’t want to be subjected to the same treatment that they witnessed. Sometimes when you do speak up, you are labeled a troublemaker and are ostracized. I am grateful that I am no longer in the work force.

@katja6332 Those actors weren’t in movies made by Weinstein, so that doesn’t mean that they couldn’t be successful, just not in anything under Weinstein’s control. If your options are limited, it reduces your opportunity. You use 2 extremely successful talented actors who succeeded in spite of Weinstein as examples, why not list those who spoke up against him and starred in one of his films?
