  1. A friend of mine has an older brother who she called ‘the golden child’ because he excelled at everything but was bipolar. He started a very successful business and became a multi millionaire but the disease took over. He was generous but used by everyone and when he spiraled out of control, his business suffered and he lost most of his fortune with his ‘friends’ distancing himself. He could no longer work and ended up in a subsidized apartment and as he got older he disliked the side effects from the medication and took his life. His sister found that he had planned everything so it wasn’t a spur of the moment decision. A few years ago a great niece was diagnosed with bipolar but her father was bipolar and died in prison. It’s a scary diagnosis for a young teenager as sadly some well known people are very creative but act out in spectacular episodes covered extensively by the media.
