I learned how badly the left hates the poor when I was in college. Even back in the 1980s lefties had no problem letting you know exactly how they feel. In all my social sciences classes there were lefties who had no problem at all disparaging average Americans. They'd refer to them as "The Stinking Masses", or "Penny Stinkers" or some other odoriferous term. I don't believe that Republicans care about regular Americans. I do believe Democrats care deeply about regular Americans, they abhor us. I don't believe Democrats ever liked regular Americans, as far as I can tell from my 60 years of watching them operate, they've always hated regular Americans they just want to control them. FDR and JFK were wealthy. Ike, Reagen and Ford were not.
