Forest Forest lived out of a minivan for a long period of time. If I had to do this, I'd try to find one of the smaller Ford Transits that is like that Ram Van this person had but is probably more reliable just because of the window issue. Then I'd try to insulate it with some foam board or something closed cell, and maybe install an exhaust fan in the ceiling. The lack of a bathroom would be the biggest issue. I suppose urinating in a jug is simple enough and big business would be a challenge. Id prefer a flush toilet away from the van but that means something public which might not be clean. I guess a cheap gym membership could solve that problem. Just arrive super early and christen a freshly cleaned pot with a dump after a light work out and then have a morning shower and shave. Climate. This sort of thing can only be comfortable in climates that are both moderate in the summer and winter. Extreme weather seems to be a problem. If I had to live frugally, I think the best bet is to buy a piece of land to park a vehicle and either live out of that or insulate at shed, and install a make shift shower.
