A lot of people react in an enthusiastic nature in large part because the government/president ran on something, made the promise, and then lo and behold they’re actually doing it. That breeds a certain excitement and support. It’s not the same as having some personal hatred or xenophobic angst. Does that exist, sure, but the motives on the left are not all pure either. Those are extreme on both sides-but I believe a vast majority of folks are encouraged by the action and have developed an earned cynicism to these crocodile tears and selective humanization from media. Few are happy about the sad stories but do the job and get these people out. Wish other problems were taking serious and actually dealt with. What’s sad is that these sentiments are easily exploitable by autocrats which makes the dems to me seem even more irresponsible for not taking the issue seriously
