It's a liability to hire women, too.
I did recruitment, and I was required to be accompanied by a woman for interviewing women.
Someone on X explained that it was due to liability. Women can sue the company for improper behavior during the interview.
A woman on X added that women in the workplace can make false accusations if they see someone looking like another who may have done something wrong. (she tried to argue why it was men's fault that women were more expensive to hire.)
Even without the differences in how men and women work, that alone is a considerable risk.
That means that the woman you hire has to be remarkable.
On top of that, men are much more represented in the tails of the bell curve. So, if you want to fill a position for a «big brain, long hour» kind of job, your best fit is a biological man. At least, according to sciences.
Also, something rarely considered is that one woman in a male team is a disturbance. Men tend to provide, even in the workplace, leading to less output from them as they take on part of the job of the female employee.
So, there is too much against women in some workplaces.
