  1. The distribution in a room can even be predicted person by person if there is already few people in. It's a combination of how easy it is to escape, maximizing the distance to others and homophily. The two first criterion can swap place depending on confidence/apparent toughness. It's also important that the places in the room are irrelevant to what you need to do, study rooms are the best match. When you look at auditorium, things are a bit more complex as "rows" are more or less valuable depending on people personality. Though, you can still see the presence of the base criterion.
