@grimsgraveyard3598 "period poverty" is the fact that some women don't have access to tampon and those are a necessity. It's one of those things, like parental leave, where it's OK to ask contributions to everyone. And what is particular is that the party who would be more prone to enact this...does not. I wonder why! Ah yes, having people miserable greatly help them!

@egobrain6826 When you "champion responsibility" like you did...you are blaming people. I can see it gives you a hard time understanding that not all people havd the luxury to budgetize. Also, "I am not against voluntary donations" is the coward way of telling "I don't care about that situation, let me ignore it". Seems you tried to be smart 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Smart companies avoid any issues by gating maternity leave with some occupational time and warn people taking the role. It's done because there have been too much abuse by people wanting a baby and delaying it to benefit maternity leave. Seems that this company was stupid and is thus at fault. The issue is known enough that they should have included the clause and informed the employee. What they did is stupid and innacceptable!

@melloroful Well, it needs to be explained. People rarely consider others. Not necessarily because they are selfish, but just because they are busy with their own life. So, those things have to be shown, people awareness has to be raised. In the end, the best way about it is to understand some people may not even be aware and explain it to them. If you get negative about it, then you are killing all chances of empathy.

@egobrain6826 Omg, what you wrote sounds stupid. Not everyone even has a job. Not everyone can even work. I know that most people in the streets are men, but there are also women. In the same vein, there are women working and still not able to make it through the end of the month and having to chose between eating, paying bills and getting higienic products. Not everyone is a student living in momy and dady house either. It's too easy to brush off that issue by blaming others, isn't it. It certainly makes you much more comfortable. Get to know and keep in mind that we have very different paths in life and not every course of action is our design. I was myself a ward of the state and got punished by extra-stupid teachers with the same discours as yours. That if I didn't buy video games, candy, the latest nikes and technology gadgets, then I would be able to buy the calculator, ruler, compass and all the material he required. Ah yes, with almost 1$ of pocket a month, sure, I would be able to afford a 60$ calculator...I ended up yielling at that teacher after one of the lesson, to explain him that some pupils are ward of the state and that he should have some awareness instead of making our lives harder than it is. I wish you to live an eye opening exeprience, like being on the street for a few days or having an abusing landlord. Not for too long, just the time to realise how stupid it sounds to write "they just have to".
