I am a software developer who has to do front-end development. As soon as I could justify dropping IE, I did! That means some users could only use the software if they moved to modern browsers. Why ? Because the cost of maintaining IE dwarfed development costs and impeded the development of modern features. It's also that or disappearing and not offering the software anymore.
