With digital timers, you don't see the whole day schedule! So, it's a tradeoff.
15 years ago, a school where I was a student called me, because they couldn't figure out how to change the schedule of the boiler.
It was for good reason, that was an old system with a mixture of mechanical timers and one digital timer where the screen was so small that it didn't offers display of days, but 3 digit codes. So, you had to use a flow chart from the manual and fiddle with the mechanical timer too.
Took me a solid hour at the time to understand how to setup different schedules for different days, because it wasn't as simple as entering the schedule day by day. You had to think about how time would pass by encoding start and stop times for other timers. A big shit to program, especially when you think that you are dealing with time of the day and it's in fact hours to wait 😂
System got changed after that.
I still have the one with push tabs in my room to manage ventilation. Because it's mechanical and so simple, I did setup it once and I'll probably die before having to replace it. Obviously, those are not to be fiddled with every day (Because tabs becomes loose).
Ironically, I did electro-mecanical studies and I didn't though out how the override switch did work. The most basic mechanical "or" hold switch, but that's often those things that you forgot about. A bit like the "not" one ^^
