  1. Belgium spend the same amount than USA on education, yet obliterate it ^^ School funding is very important because it gives opportunity to everyone according to his abilities of course. Of course, if you're rich you can go to private schools and enjoy some facilities and smaller classes (So, easier for teachers to do a good job too). But at least, if you are a ward of the state, you can have a quality education! It's one of the things I am happy to pay for others through taxes so they don't have to have it harder just because they were unlucky. It's also why Belgium has brains ^^

  2. 23:18 That guy is disgusting. We have pages of pages explaining how, why and when to grade. On top of that, evaluations comes in different kinds. From "blank" to "certificating" en-passant by "diagnostic" ones. We also use grids and those grids are available. In high school, student even sign them. So we can see it's objective. Speaking of objectives, those are clearly defined and also comes in two kinds, on top of that, we have competences which are also split in whether they are strictly bound to the domain (e.g. Student is able to determine if there is enough data to solve a problem) or transversal (Student can articulate ideas in chronological order and draw dependencies).
