@semi-consciousamerican-joe2481 Yeah, like I get a road in exchange for paying X amount in taxes. Having less money and that money being worth less are two different things.

@semi-consciousamerican-joe2481 You know that, if "their" money is worth more, then your money is worth more, right? And that the "destroyed" money gets counted as credits against government debits, and overall debt, which is how all paying for things works?

@semi-consciousamerican-joe2481 You're the one that doesn't seem to grasp that nothing has intrinsic value. Making up that a shiny stone has value is no different than making up that a piece of paper with artwork and numbers on it has value. In some governmentless ancap society, me, and others in my community, might have to pool 20% of our shiny stones together and pay someone to build a road. With the government, they take 20% of my artwork paper, and those of others in my community, and pay someone to build a road. Either way, I have 20% less of the thing that has been assigned value, which is different from that thing itself having less value.
