@davidmeadows5627 Not every insult is an "ad hominem". You should learn what it means, before tossing it around so wildly. The religious right has been cancelling people, and things, for millennia, and have used the law, and authorities, to do it. A private company deciding what people can, and can't, say, on their platform, doesn't violate any American values. People protesting those they don't agree with, doesn't violate American values. The US was founded on protesting against companies that supported the crown, or vice versa, even destroying their property. Meanwhile, you have actual Republican lawmakers, tossing books and dictating language. If you know how the first amendment works, then you should know which is more of an infringement on American values, and rights. There's a difference between "voter ID laws" and strict voter ID laws. Canada is one of those "other countries", with "voter ID laws", but they aren't strict. You can bring in household bills, student IDs, and all kinds of things, to indicate who you are. Nobody really has a problem with having to provide some way of identifying yourself. The problem is if you narrow it down to a few very specific forms of ID, that some demographics are less likely to already have, in some states very significantly less likely.

@davidmeadows5627 Picture ID? You're basically claiming everyone without a driver's license, is unemployed, which is total bullshit. Social insurance number, for taxes, and bank info, for direct deposits, is pretty much all you need from an employee, unless it's a driving job.

@davidmeadows5627 Funny thing is you use non photo ID to get the photo ID. To get the photo voter ID, that you're oh so concerned about, you have to accept that the person in front of you matches their birth certificate, or whatnot. Only allowing photo ID should lead to infinite regression.

@davidmeadows5627 Umm, yes, the voter IDs being given to people who don't already have a photo ID, do have pictures. I didn't say one non photo ID was enough. I said you have to accept non photo ID to get a photo ID. Your pedantic blathering didn't debunk that. Again, you're the one who brought up "other countries". Canada allows for a wide variety of ways to prove who you are, including non photo ways. Simply stating "other countries" have "voting ID laws" doesn't explain exactly what form those laws take. Like when lying Republicans tried to make out like Colorado had stricter voting laws than Georgia.

@davidmeadows5627 Reducing the hate spread by nazi/fascist/kkk types to "an opinion that you disagree with", is beyond moronic. That kind of hate not only ruins people's lives, it even takes people's lives. Strict voter ID laws are firstly classist. Yeah, poorer people do have more of an excuse to be able to afford taking a day off to go to the DMV, and more of an excuse to be able to afford extra transportation, to go fetch a new ID. Secondly, certain demographics being poorer than others, they're racist. It's knowingly targetting a higher percentage of those demographics, and making them jump through new hoops, just to vote.

@davidmeadows5627 You're the one who brought up "other countries", dimwit, but you don't want to hear from one of those "other countries"? Birth certificate counts as a List B ID, which can be coupled with a List C ID, like Social Security (SSN, SIN, same thing). Do you really think people that commit hate crimes haven't been fueled by others spewing hate? They were just born racist, or something?

@davidmeadows5627 Them ending up with a photo ID for voting is the whole point, dimwit. What would be the point of handing them a non photo voter ID? The Georgia voter ID has a photo. The Texas voting certificate has a photo. Alabama voter ID has a photo.
