@eelvis1674 People didn't have IDs with their birth dates on them, and used to be shit at keeping track of their ages. They considered puberty to be adulthood.

The Quran doesn't actually give an age for her. Elsewhere, as in the Tanakh/OT, it equates puberty to being of age. People didn't have birth certificates back then. If you look at 19th century censuses, when they still didn't carry around birth certificates, and compare them to county birth records, or baptism records, they show that many people still couldn't keep track of their ages, or their kids ages, very well.
