And yet, a fetus has no consciousness, and can't feel pain, until around 24 weeks. "Gruesome and painful" aren't a thing, without consciousness, or the ability to feel pain.

@barbiquearea There's a difference between depressed consciousness and subconsciousness vs zero consciousness. People recount dreams, after coming out of comas. We pull the plug on brain dead people all the time, even though their bodies could be sustained on life support (like a fetus requires life support). A fetus doesn't even start developing the parts required, for any of the above, until 24 weeks. If we can consider someone brain dead no longer really "alive", then why can't we consider a pre 24 week fetus, not yet "alive"?

@barbiquearea "that is their choice" That's all that's being asked for. A "baby" is actually one that's born. You're "having a baby", you don't "already have a baby". Hey, scientists can create artificial eggs, now. Every single sperm is a living organism, with individual DNA, that has the potential to become a living baby. Maybe we should ban sex, and only allow for masturbating into test tubes, so we can catch every single "baby".
