  1.  Danny Saigal  How does it eradicate poverty, when it's under half the poverty line, and doesn't account for children? There are even some very poor people on full benefits, like SSI disability and SNAP, already getting $1000+ a month. All they'll get from Yang is higher consumption taxes on plenty of goods and services, leaving them worse off.

  2. @Tidan888 Those other countries have corporations paying in other ways, like higher minimum wages, or high unionization ... then they tax those better paid consumers. Yang doesn't have corporations paying in to his UBI/VAT scheme, because corporations get credited back for input VAT in a VAT system. His plan will only makes the likes of Amazon tens of billions extra a year. That'll make Bezos billions extra a year ... more than he'd ever personally pay in through a VAT. If they'd get more out than they'd pay in, then that money is coming from elsewhere.
