The home is about 2.5 miles away from Thousand Oaks Elementary School, where she was bused as part of the city’s desegregation program." A little apartment over a garage converted into a daycare, doesn't sound ritzy, to me. She, and her mom, both lived in Oakland, upon returning to the US, as well.
